Israel TV channel 1 on January 19, 2007 aired a rerun of this “60 Minutes” story originally aired on December 17, 2006. It is very poignant, especially in view of the recent meeting of Holocaust deniers in Iran.

The documentary describes for the first time a German archive containing detailed information about 17.5 million victims of the Holocaust. The archive, whose existence had been kept secret until now, houses 16 miles of shelving containing 50 million pages of documents.

After the German government recently opened the archives, CBS News’ Scott Pelley traveled there with three Jewish survivors who were able to see their own Holocaust records. It is heartrending to see and hear the reactions of these survivors, as they view the records of their own incarceration 64 years ago

This remarkable documentary deserves to be widely distributed to opinion makers world-wide.
