U.S. strikes Al Qaeda members linked to 1998 Embassy bombings

This is good news. Finally, we’re taking the gloves off and really fighting this war. The news media are reporting that a U.S. Air Force gunship has conducted a strike against suspected members of al Qaeda in Somalia. The targets included the senior al Qaeda leader in East Africa and an al Qaeda operative wanted for his involvement in the 1998 bombings of two American embassies in Africa. In the August 7, 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings, 257 people were killed and over 4,000 wounded in simultaneous car bomb explosions at the United States embassies in the East African capital cities of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya. Al Qaeda was deemed responsible for the attack. This also resulted in the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation placing bin Laden on its Ten Most Wanted list, which by the way, is populated with only Muslims. If the attack got the operatives it was aimed at, it would deal a major blow to al Qaeda in East Africa.

Stay tuned.
