The pendulum keeps tipping toward Arab favor

From Ha’aretz:

Attorney General Menachem Mazuz ruled that the Jewish National Fund (JNF)
must allocate land rights in an egalitarian fashion, without discriminating between Jews and Arabs.

In recent days, the State Prosecution informed the High Court of Justice of Mazuz’s decision, in reference to several petitions filed by Arab citizens complaining that the JNF refused to sell them apartments and empty lots resting on lands belonging to them.

The State Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement saying “the attorney general’s opinion, as it was presented to the JNF, is that the Israel Lands Authority must adhere to the principles of equality, and is forbidden from discriminating against people based on their nationality, even when the land in question is owned by the JNF.”

In recent days, the State Prosecution instructed the Israel Lands Authority to cancel a lands sale tender in Carmiel for which one of the prerequisites was that the buyers must be Jewish. It was agreed that should a non-Jew make the highest bid in the tender for one of the lots, the property would be frozen until the High Court issues a ruling on the petition.
