On May 12, 2005, at approximately 23:00, an explosion was heard in the area of Har Dov in Northern Israel. An IDF inquiry revealed that the explosion was caused by two rockets fired from Lebanese territory into Israel. No injuries or damages were reported in the attack.
This attack is the fourth rocket attack from Lebanon into Israel to be carried out in the past year, and is part of a series of provocative terror attacks from Lebanon aimed at civilians in northern Israel.
The Lebanese government is responsible for all of the incidents which take place in Lebanese territory, including these attacks, which are conducted by terror organizations. Lebanon should therefore act to fulfill UN decision number 1559 and operate to dismantle the armed terror organizations in its territory.
