August 19th 2006IDF SPOKESPERSON ANNOUNCEMENTAn Israeli soldier was killed this morning, by an armed palestinian gunman who opened fire at an IDF force manning a checkpoint near the Israeli community of Beqa’ot, in the Jordan Valley, east of Nablus. The force returned fire at the assailant, killing him. A gun was found on his body.The family of the soldier was notified.
